Were we robbed? Are there other forces at play? Definitely. However, let's face it, we were outplayed by what we don't know, and we lost. Let's be gracious on that and congratulate the Kiwis — well done, Caps, and all the best for the final!

Dismayed and bewildered — KJB

Wow, what a game — yes, we were not out, however somehow we were completely outplayed.

Today, as I look back, I am still bewildered and wonder what the hell happened. Rickelton out for a duck, and the tallest man in the team, a bowler, saved our face from complete annihilation. Let's face it, we were outplayed.

My question, in sheer bewilderment, is HOW?

One slow ball from Ngidi almost got a wicket — why did we not play it up more? Were we too sure of ourselves and saw our own arse? Why did we not mix it up more? Where was the camaraderie, the encouragement? Were we beaten before we came out onto the field to bowl?

The NZ slogger gets attention in the middle and we never regrouped as a team to motivate and bring it home? We rather kept our static positions in the field warm, which constantly were five or so metres too far left or right — the field placement was piss poor, the likes of which we have not seen for years.

It's almost as if a completely different pitch was prepared for our team and the Kiwis. The slower ball seemed somewhat soggy and got no height, while NZ had a hard, dry ball they hit into next week — meanwhile we could not even get it to the second storey, so to speak.

Will we ever know? Guess not. Were we outplayed — who made the most money on the winning? A country that is rife with betting and the centre of the match-fixing universe. Something happened out there and it's not normal — the boys played hard and were powered to walk it!
